The 18-year-old Botafogo centre-back is seen by the Serie A champions as the ideal replacement for Lucio, who was released last week by the Turin club to allow him to return to Brazil with Sao Paulo.
And with Giorgio Chiellini also out for months with a calf injury, a January defensive recruitment appears imperative to the Italians.
Doria’s registration is part-owned by investors and a management firm, but his agent Jolden Vegette believes the transfer is progressing on schedule.
“There is still nothing definitive,” he told Globoesporte. “But the transfer should be finalised after January 6.”
The Brazilian club had already rejected an offer from Juve for the defender last month, believed to be in the ballpark of €4.5 million.
