Icardi has been a revelation since making his first-team debut in September, scoring nine goals in 15 starts in Serie A at the age of only 20.
Inter are believed to be interested in the Argentine, who like Lionel Messi before him was born in Rosario and then moved to Barcelona to learn his trade at La Masia.
He signed for Sampdoria, initially on loan, in January 2011.
“We’ll evaluate Icardi’s future in June,” Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti told Primo.
“However, his representative has turned down our attempts to extend his current agreement – one which I considered was more than dignified.
“How much will he cost? His value could be close to the 15 million euro mark, but his value will rise if he keeps scoring like this.”
Meanwhile, Pedro Obiang, Nenad Krsticic and Citadin Eder have all signed new contracts with the Serie A side.
