Sharks: Rohan Janse van Rensburg trades Sale for Durban

The Sharks have announced the signing of centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg from the northern hemisphere-based Sale Sharks on a three-year contract.

The South African will return home ahead of the 2022/23 URC season where he will compete for Sean Everitt’s Durban-based Sharks.

Van Rensburg, 28, has been with Sale since 2017/28 initially on loan before signing permanently with the club for the 2018/19 Premiership season.

The once-Test Springbok (he has also has one outing versus the Barbarians) appeared 73 times for the English team, scoring 23 tries along the way.

Sale Sharks put out a statement reading, “Everyone at Sale Sharks would like to thank Rohan for his huge contribution to the club over the past four years and we wish him all the very best for the future.”
