“She Thought I Was Really Arrogant, I Thought She Was Really Arrogant”- Jasprit Bumrah Speaks About His Wife

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been the team’s main bowler in the ongoing series against England. In the series so far, he has picked 16 wickets and also played a game-winning innings with the bat at Lord’s. In a recent interview with fellow Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik, Bumrah spoke about his relationship with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan.

Sanjana is a sports presenter for Star Sports. Most of the people were unaware of their relationship, and their wedding in Goa earlier this year was a close-knit event. Talking about the first impression, Jasprit Bumrah revealed that neither of them wanted to start a conversation since they both thought the other was “very arrogant.”

Things between the two, however, started changing when they began socialising at the ICC 2019 World Cup in England.

“I had obviously seen her a lot of times but we had the same problem with each other. She thought I was really arrogant, I thought she was really arrogant so we never really spoke. I spoke to her for the first time during the 2019 World Cup when she was here covering the event. We became friends and started talking a lot. It’s been good, we have been married for five months now, so yeah very happy”,said Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah is in a good frame of mind right now, and he attributes it to his wife Sanjana. He feels that having his wife with him on tour makes it easier for him to unwind after a game.

Bumrah said, “She understands the sport, she understands what the player goes through, so whenever things don’t go well or go well, we have a lot of interesting conversations, that really helps me. And, obviously, playing cricket and travelling all the time, you’ve got your wife with you now, so, you really have to focus on other things as well”
