What is the team news?

Sheffield United were without David McGoldrick, John Fleck and Luke Freeman for the victory over Wolves. Manager Chris Wilder is hopeful that the former will be fit for this weekend's clash with Chelsea, while John Lundstram had a painkilling injection which meant he was able to take a spot on the bench against Wolves. Fleck could be back this weekend, too, with Wilder saying the midfielder is "back out on the grass (and training)".

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, meanwhile, has a few injury worries in midfield. N'Golo Kante is a major doubt after picking up a hamstring strain in the win against Watford last Saturday, and missed the win over Palace. Lampard is hoping to have the French international back before his side's clash with Norwich on Tuesday. Fikayo Tomori and Mateo Kovacic are both unlikely to feature, too.

What are Telegraph writers saying?

Mike McGrath found much to admire in the form of Jack O'Connell during Sheffield United's midweek victory over Wolves. Read the piece here and below is a snippet:

In Chris Wilder’s system, O'Connell pops up everywhere. On the left side of three centre-backs, he barks orders like an old-fashioned stopper and points to where his team-mates need to be, noticeably more louder than John Egan in the heart of the defence.

Yet he often finds himself in full-back positions both attacking and defending.

Meanwhile, Chief Football Writer Sam Wallace has been lamenting the situation regarding Chelsea's out-of-form goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. You can read that here.

Arrizabalaga presents a unique challenge, Chelsea's most expensive signing, who – two years in – seems to be declining rather than improving at a crucial moment in the development of a new team. They could just soldier on, blame the economic circumstances and try to make the world’s most expensive goalkeeper look the part. History tells them that the most successful teams of the era have tended towards doing the opposite and looking for a better solution, however painful that might be in the short-term.

What are the odds?

  • Sheffield Utd win: 5/1

  • Draw: 14/5

  • Chelsea win: 4/7

What is our prediction?

Two in-form sides, this should be close. Chelsea will be looking to cement their place in the Champions League spots, although they are away from home. Sheffield United will look to extend their purple patch and continue to push for a Europa League place. At home, they should get something out of the game.
