Tottenham travel to a rejuvenated Sheffield United side looking to bounce back after dropping points against Fulham midweek in a setback to their hopes of finishing inside the top four.

Blades are confident after finally clinching their first win of the Premier League season after 18 games with Billy Sharp’s goal enough to down Newcastle.

Ivan Cavaleiro punished Jose Mourinho’s side for not putting the game away after Harry Kane’s opener, which leaves Spurs two points off fourth.

Chris Wilder will hope to carry over the momentum from the Newcastle win to continue closing the gap on Brighton in 17th, with the gap down to nine points.

Blades won the last outing between the sides and the reverse fixture last season with a comfortable 3-1 victory with goals from Sander Berge, Lys Mousset and Oliver McBurnie.

Gareth Bale is yet to feature prominently for Spurs since joining on loan from Real Madrid, but his boss insists there are no talks yet about extending his second spell in north London.

"There was not even a second of discussion about that," Mourinho said. “Gareth is a player on loan until the end of the season. Not one second of discussion. We are speaking about, of course, Gareth, himself, Real Madrid, Tottenham, but I promise you, not one second of discussion.”

What is the team news?

Wilder claims he has seven players missing here but wouldn’t specify exactly who.

Blades could remain unchanged from their first win of the season against Newcastle. That will mean match-winner Billy Sharp remains as an impact substitute.

Enda Stevens, Oli McBurnie and George Baldock will be require checks. Jack O'Connell, Sander Berge and Jack Robinson are set to remain out with long-term injuries.

Toby Alderweireld and Lucas Moura could push for starts, while Mourinho is likely to resist handing Dele Alli or Gareth Bale a rare start.

Giovani Lo Celso is set to remain out.

What are the predicted line-ups?

Sheffield United XI: Ramsdale; Basham, Egan, Ampadu; Bogle, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Osborn; McGoldrick, Brewster

Spurs XI: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies; Hojbjerg, Winks; Lucas, Ndombele, Son; Kane

What are the odds?

Sheffield United - 19/4

Draw - 14/5

Tottenham - 8/13

Prediction

Spurs have to bounce back but Blades will be flying from the start here. Mourinho will know how pivotal it is to win here though and while a point might not be enough to satisfy Mourinho, that might be what he has to take given the short turnaround and form of both teams. We’ll go for a hard-fought, entertaining 1-1 draw.
