Shkodran Mustafi is refusing to give up on Arsenal's Premier League title challenge this season.

The Gunners were second in the table as recently as mid January but have fallen off the pace following back-to-back defeats to Watford and leaders Chelsea.

Antonio Conte's side are nine points clear at the top of the table and boast a 12-point advantage over Arsenal, who have slipped to fourth place.

But Mustafi is refusing to throw in the towel even though Arsenal are unlikely to be able to drop anymore points in their remaining 14 games.

“I think it’s going to be more difficult than it was before - but I’m a believer,” he told Sky Sports.

“I don’t give up. As long as it’s possible we’re going to fight for it, and in the end we will see and if we’re lucky enough and good enough to go for it or not.

“The first game we lost at home [to Watford] was really disappointing.

“We were disappointed as well with losing at Chelsea, which was a completely different game.

"We knew it would be difficult at Stamford Bridge, but we knew as well it’s possible to win. I think in the end we didn’t do enough,” he added.

Arsenal have an opportunity to bounce back when they host Hull City at Emirates Stadium this weekend.

The Tigers are fighting to secure their top-flight status and are set to arrive in north London full of confidence, having beaten Liverpool last time out.
