We simulated Bournemouth vs Chelsea to get a Premier League score prediction
Chelsea have had a mixed start to the 2024/25 season, but after a week of international football, the Blues return to action against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
One win, one loss, and most recently a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace has left Chelsea 11th in the Premier League table, with the Blues still looking to find some consistency in the early stages of the season. Next up for Enzo Maresca's side is a trip to the south coast to take on Bournemouth, with Chelsea unbeaten in their last six meetings against the Cherries.
Cole Palmer wasn't called up to the England squad due to an injury issue, but Chelsea's star man is available for Sunday's clash. Malu Gusto is set to miss out through injury, and with Reece James also out, Axel Disasi is likely to start at right-back.
So, can Chelsea get back to winning ways this weekend? Let's take a look.
We simulated Bournemouth vs Chelsea to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions, however as we're still using EA FC 24, the kits are from last season, and squad numbers may not be accurate.
We predict that Bournemouth could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Travers; Araujo, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Christie, Cook; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson.
We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sanchez; Disasi, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.
It was Bournemouth who controlled the first half on the south coast, with the hosts having 10 shots and 64% possession in the first half, while Chelsea managed just two shots. The Blues made it to half-time without falling behind, and not long after the restart, it was Maresca's side who took the lead against the run of play.
As Bournemouth sat deep in Chelsea's half, a turnover in possession saw the Blues hit the hosts on the break. Cole Palmer freed Noni Madueke down the right, and the winger sent an early cross into the box to find the bursting run of Nicolas Jackson. The striker's glanced header was out of reach for the 'keeper, sending Chelsea 1-0 ahead.
The goal didn't phase Bournemouth, and in the 74th minute, they levelled the score when Justin Kluivert cut inside from the left and curled a fantastic shot into the far corner of the goal. The Cherries had dominated the majority of the game, but in the 94th minute, heartbreak struck as Chelsea managed to score once again.
An ambitious long-range strike from Palmer forced the 'keeper into palming the ball over his bar for a Chelsea corner, and from the resulting set-piece, Axel Disasi rose highest at the back post to head into the net and snatch three points at the death.
