Liverpool face Brentford in their first Premier League home game of the 2024/25 season on Sunday evening, with Arne Slot's side looking to build on their winning start.

Slot's reign as Reds manager began with a win last weekend, as his side recovered from a subdued first half to eventually claim a comfortable 0-2 away win at newly-promoted Ipswich, and the new boss will be hoping for a similar result this weekend.

After being replaced at the break against the Tractor Boys, Jarell Quansah is likely to make way for Ibrahima Konate against the Bees, in what is likely to be the only change barring any late injury issues.

So, can Liverpool make it two wins from two in the Premier League? Let's take a look.

We simulated Liverpool vs Brentford to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, suspensions and transfers. As this is still EA FC 24, the 2024/25 kits and kit numbers may not be accurate.

We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota.

We predict that the Bees could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Flekken; Roerslev, Collins, Pinnock, Ajer; Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt; Mbuemo, Wissa, Schade.

Liverpool got off to a perfect start in this game, with Mohamed Salah getting his second goal in as many games early on, with the forward jinking past a few Bees defenders before slotting a finish past Flekken after just eight minutes. But Brentford responded instantly, with a fast counterattack ending with Wissa being played through on goal, where he rounded Alisson and tapped into an empty net to make it 1-1.

In the second half, the Reds were much-improved and dominated the game, scoring three unanswered goals to claim their first home win of the season. It was Salah again on the scoresheet to make it 2-1, with the Egyptian producing a stunning chip over Flekken to put the home side ahead, before late goals from Diogo Jota and substitute Cody Gakpo made it 4-1 on the day, in what turned out to be a pretty routine win for Arne Slot's side.

EA FC 24 predicted final score: Liverpool 4-1 Brentford
