A former Sky Sports commentator has hit out at his old employers following Liverpool's clash with Brentford. The Reds sealed their second successive win under Arne Slot after goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah sealed a 2-0 victory at Anfield on Sunday.

After the tie, Bryn Law, who spent over two decades at Sky Sports, criticised the company's coverage. He accused them of a lack of neutrality, citing the fact that Brentford weren't represented among either the punditry or commentary teams.

On X, Law wrote: "Sky's coverage of this Liverpool v Brentford game is LFCTV. Ex-players as co-comm and studio guest, LFC associated presenter.

"Could they not have at least found an ex-Brentford player as a 2nd studio guest? The pretence of broadcaster's neutrality a thing of the past?"

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was on co-commentary alongside Peter Drury for the game, and later joined another former Reds star, Jamie Redknapp, on punditry. Meanwhile, Kelly Cates, whose father is Anfield titan Kenny Dalglish, presented the broadcast.

The only other person on screen was former Everton and Manchester City footballer Izzy Christiansen, who holds no ties with Brentford. Additionally, some on social media voiced concerns about the fact that Liverpool was a major focus of the build-up for Bournemouth's clash with Newcastle earlier in the day.

Before the game, which kicked off a couple of hours before Liverpool's tie with Brentford, the punditry team filmed a segment inside the Liverpool dressing room and discussed the futures of Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, all of whom have less than 12 months remaining on their Anfield contracts. They also showed Carragher's interview with Slot during the broadcast.

Law, who currently works for Leeds United's LUTV, insisted he could have found a former Brentford player or coach to be on the punditry team in "about 10 minutes". He posted: "It's not difficult these days. Loads of ex-players and managers knocking about who have done lots of media work".

He also said that if Sky Sports were interested in editorial neutrality, they ought to offer specialised team-based coverage via the red button. "They should let 'the little club' do their own red button coverage then they could go full 'big club' with impunity," Law wrote in another post.

Having spent 21 years as part of Sky Sports' team, Law was a staple on Soccer Saturday as a live reporter. He also provided commentary for the EFL as well as for Welsh and women's football matches.

In 2019, he left the company to take up the role of head commentator on Leeds United's own channel, LUTV.
