CHICAGO — Should Aaron Gordon have been crowned the winner at the 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest? Players around the league sure seem to think so.

The Magic forward fell one point short of Derrick Jones Jr. in a dunk-off Saturday night at the United Center in Chicago. Gordon had scored only 50s prior to his final attempt, a two-handed throwdown over Celtics center Tacko Fall, who is listed at 7-5.

Gordon earned a 47 from the judges after a 48-point dunk from Heat forward Jones ending the competition and leaving the crowd stunned. (The individual scores from each judge on Gordon's last dunk: Dwyane Wade, 9; Common, 10; Candace Parker, 10; Chadwick Boseman, 9; Scottie Pippen, 9.)

"Jumping over somebody 7-5 and dunking is no easy feat," Gordon said. "What did I get, like a 47? Come on, man. What are we doing?"

Several NBA players agreed with Gordon's assessment. Here's a sampling of their reactions on Twitter.
