Arsenal head to Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-final second leg knowing they must find a positive result to progress and keep their trophy hopes alive.

The Gunners look extremely unlikely to earn European football for next season as a result of their domestic efforts, currently sitting in ninth in the Premier League, so winning this competition - and thereby earning a Champions League spot for 2021/22 - is their only probable route back into Continental action.

Those same domestic inconsistencies have been apparent in the Europa League too, though, as Mikel Arteta’s side lost the second leg to Olympiacos in the last round and only managed a draw at home to Slavia, with a late equaliser seeing the Czech side hold a slight advantage thanks to the away goal from the game at the Emirates.

At the weekend, Arsenal easily overcame bottom club Sheffield United to earn a first win in five in all competitions, while Slavia made it 23 unbeaten in all competitions since mid-December with a routine victory of their own. They have lost just three matches this term: a Champions League qualifier and two Europa League group games.
