The Melbourne potting machine is targeting top spot in the sport before the third staging of the Australian Goldfields Open at the Bendigo Stadium in his home state of Victoria.

“I’m up to number three now, so if I can have a good run in this tournament and at the next few before the World Championships (in April) then I might be able to get to number one,” said Robertson, who won his first world title in 2010.

“It’d be absolutely amazing to come to Bendigo as the number one player in the world, so hopefully, I can have a good run over these next few months.”
