Snowboard - Prommeger, Kummer win in La Molina

Andreas Prommegger and Patrizia Kummer did their respective bids for the overall men’s and women’s FIS Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup titles the world of good with wins in La Molina.

Prommegger saw off the charge of Simon Schoch in the big final in Spain to take his overall points tally to 6550 while Benjamin Karl boosted his own hopes after beating Lukas Mathies to bronze.

Karl’s tally stands at 5480 placing him third with Roland Fischnaller, who was out of sorts in finishing 12th, second in the overall rankings with 5930 with two rounds to go.

Meanwhile in the women’s event Kummer got the better of her nearest challenger for the overall World Cup title, Germany’s Amelie Kober, in the big final to record back-to-back wins.

She now has 6040 points to her name with Kober’s total 5180 while in the small final Julie Zogg got the better of Switzerland teammate Fraenzi Maegert-Kohli to take bronze.
