Soccer: Brook Hill boys stop Prince of Peace on OKs to advance to state finals

Mar. 7—ROUND ROCK — Brook Hill's Guard will be playing in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division III state championship match at 2:30 p.m. Friday after nipping Carrollton-Prince of Peace, 6-5 on penalty kicks, Thursday.

The title match will be played at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex (Field 1).

In the semi-final fray, the match was tied, 0-0, at the end of regulation. After two overtime periods, neither school had been able to score, which resulted in the match being decided on penalty kicks.

Guard goal keeper Christian Pous came up with a key save, which enabled the Guard to earn the victory and the birth in the state finals.

Brook Hill will be playing Houston-British International School, who defeated Houston-St. Thomas Episcopal, 2-1, in the other state semi-final match Thursday.

Brook Hill is the District 2 champion and British International School is the District 6 champion.
