SOCIAL CHATTER: 0% win percentage for Garde at Villa but it’s Gestede and Bacuna getting it in the neck

Social media shows no mercy for Aston Villa as the search for a win continues following a 1-1 draw with League Two Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup.

Aston Villa’s dismal season hit a new low when they were held to a 1-1 draw by League Two Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup…and social media hit out at obvious targets.

Without a win in the Premier League since the opening day of the season, Villa’s under-performing stars are under fire. And after Micah Richards’ opener was cancelled out to earn Wycombe a replay, there were yet more questions as to when Villa will actually win again.

Key critic Stan Collymore, who enjoyed much happier days at Villa Park when he was playing for the club, was one of those to hit out on Twitter after the latest shambles.

The statistic was aimed at manager Remi Garde, who is yet to lead his side to a victory. And he didn’t hold back on his views of owner Randy Lerner either, sending a heavy hint with the photo below…

Captain Richards scored the Villa goal, but had an even bigger role to play afterwards at Adams Park as he attempted to appease fans angered by the latest performance.

Those angry supporters chose misfiring striker Rudy Gestede as their number one target following a lacklustre display against Wycombe.

Collymore’s former Villa team-mate Ian Taylor was as frustrated as anyone after the horror show. The ex-midfielder sympathised with fellow claret and blue fans, but warned against turning on the players and management.

Leandro Bacuna didn’t help things with an Instagram post the day before the FA Cup third round trip to Wycombe.

Bacuna posted an image of himself sleeping along with a message, both of which suggested he was not about to roll his sleeves up for the Villa cause. It was subsequently taken down…but not before social media captured it.

Collymore, as you might expect, was far from impressed.
