Arsene Wenger is already a man under intense pressure at Arsenal - but things did get any easier this weekend.

Not only did his side draw 0-0 with Leicester City in a battle of last season’s top two, but Wenger himself did little to appease the frustrations of the Gunners’ faithful.

Already angry at their manager’s failure to sign a striker during the summer, Wenger has even threatened to heighten tension between himself and the Arsenal fans - on two fronts.

Firstly, Wenger heaped praise on Yaya Sanogo - suggesting he might be the answer to Arsenal’s search for a goalscorer - and then promptly allowed fans’ favourite Joel Campbell to leave on loan to Sporting Lisbon.

To say the Arsenal fans went into meltdown is something of an understatement.

Many can’t believe Campbell has left the club, albeit temporarily, and Theo Walcott remains.

One fan had the perfect solution…

The decision to loan out Campbell came after Wenger had suggested he was struggling to find a striker who would be an upgrade on what he already has - including Sanogo.

Fans were simply incredulous.

But Arsenal fans have been given a glimmer of light, according to Rio Ferdinand.

The TV pundit thinks one of Wenger’s more frustrating squad members is coming good at last…Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

But with only one point from their opening two games of the season, it is no surprise to see Arsenal remain the butt of jokes for some.
