She is the youngest contestant on the show this year at the age of 19. Gemma admitted her father is hardly 'buzzing' about her participating in the show but has his full support. "He's very supportive in whatever I decide to do," she said. "He didn't have a massive tantrum or anything like that. He was pretty chilled, he trusts me not to do anything to embarrass him. He took it quite well."
