Sofapaka likened to Gor Mahia in KPL

The 2008 champions are within six points of reach to leaders Gor Mahia in second place and have promised to fight to the end

Sofapaka FC captain George Maelo says his side has a strong squad capable of causing major upsets this season in the Kenyan Premier League.

The 2009 champions have started the season relatively well, winning three matches, drawing one and losing the other. He says the competition between the players; a good sign for the Batoto ba Mungu.

"Our squad reminds me of Gor Mahia side, their squad was very strong. It is the same thing currently with us; our bench is very strong and the competition between the players is intense. We have every chance of challenging this season.

"The morale is high, and everybody is looking forward to our next assignment, the spirit in the team is amazing," he told Goal.

Sofapaka are currently placed on the fifth position with 10 points, two behind leaders Gor Mahia.
