The series centers around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living super computer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.

Roiland and Mike McMahan co-created the series and serve as executive producers. Josh Bycel also executive produces and serves as co-showrunner opposite McMahan. The series is produced by 20th Television Animation for Hulu.

Hulu has been building out its adult animation slate of late. Along with “Solar Opposites,” the streamer also currently has the animated comedies “Crossing Swords” and “MODOK,” with the latter being a Marvel series. Upcoming entries include fellow Marvel show “Hit Monkey” as well as “Koala Man.” The latter show also boasts Roiland among its executive producers, with Michael Cusack having created the show and voicing the title character.
