Charlton boss Chris Powell has quashed speculation linking player of the year Chris Solly with a move away from The Valley.
The Addicks swooped for Stevenage right-back Lawrie Wilson on Monday, fuelling rumours 21-year-old Solly could be on his way.
But Powell told the South London Press: "Every manager wants two players for every position and that is how I see it."
He added: "We all ran out of superlatives for Chris Solly last year - and he's going nowhere as far as I'm concerned.
"I know last season I was almost on tenterhooks that Chris wouldn't get injured because I didn't really have anyone else - I didn't want to put Michael Morrison out there and Andy Hughes was carrying an injury.
"I'm comfortable now that I've got two players who can fit in seamlessly there."
