BOSS Ralph Hasenhuttl says Saints are still on the lookout for another striker this summer.

The club confirmed the arrival of Bordeaux forward Sekou Mara last week, signing for a reported fee of around £11million.

However, aged just 20, he is not expected to instantly become Saints' main man up front.

Saints still have Che Adams and Adam Armstrong, as well as Nathan Tella, as good centre-forward options.

However, the club lost both Armando Broja and Shane Long over the summer, the former returning to his parent club Chelsea after a successful loan spell.

And Hasenhuttl feels Saints need to continue to look for additions in that area of the pitch, before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Discussing his striker options in an interview with Sky Sports, Hasenhuttl said: "He (Mara) is not the only offensive player we want to bring in. There is still somebody else to come.

“In the end, we need guys who make a difference up front.

“I think it’s definitely a fact that last season, we had the best time when Armando Broja was on his highest level.

“That makes a difference in those games for us. You can see that some goals, when there is no chance, can change completely a game and turn things around.

“This is what a lot of Premier League teams have, an exceptional striker up front who makes a difference in some moments, and that makes it easier for the whole team to do the rest of the job.

“That is what we need. We were strongest last season when we had it. This season, we need the same.”

Saints have made six signings so far this summer.
