Somerset Christian bounces back in win over Pineville

Mar. 21—The Somerset Christian Cougars were hopeful for a bounce back performance on Tuesday as they took on the Pineville Mountain Lions. After falling in a rout by Somerset their last time out, the Cougars were able to successfully get back on the winning side of things as they defeated Pineville 11-6. Somerset Christian trailed 4-2 after the first two innings, but proceeded to outscore the Mountain Lions 9-2 the final five innings to take home the win.

Emory Whitescarver led the way in the game with three RBI's, with Gavin Lewis and Jackson Case each batting in two RBI's apiece. Shadrach Barnett, Austin Doan and Conrad Martin each had an RBI in the win. Barnett also stole three bases during the contest, with Doan adding two stolen bases of his own. Case earned the win on the mound, pitching the entire seven innings while allowing six earned runs on nine hits with four walks and nine strikeouts. Freshman Deacon Partin led the Mountain Lions with three RBI's of his own.

Somerset Christian improves to 3-2 and will be back in action on Friday as they host Jackson City at 6 p.m.
