Tottenham attacking pair Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are among a number of Spurs stars who suffered from the brutality of Antonio Conte’s pre-season regime in South Korea.

Spurs have begun their pre-season tour in Son’s homeland and are due to play ‘Team K League’ in their first friendly on Wednesday. However, Conte is taking no prisoners in his preparations.

The north London club trained in front of 6,000 fans in the World Cup stadium in Seoul on Monday.

And, as reported by Metro, Conte was not letting his players off lightly ahead of that game.

Rondo warm-ups were followed by a series of drills and a 10-on-10 game across two-thirds of the pitch. Conte then got his players running 42 lengths of the pitch at a decent pace with minimal rest after three lengths.

And it was those grueling runs that forced both Son and Kane to collapse at different times.

The non-internationals that were back in training last week only had to do 30 lengths.

It did not help that temperatures inside the stadium were nearly 30C, although there was a slight breeze.

And young Tottenham striker Troy Parrott admitted the session was ‘tough’.

The 20-year-old said: “It depends who you ask. I’m quite a good runner naturally, but yeah it’s been tough. It’s been hard work but it’s all preparation.”

One of the club’s new signings Ivan Perisic was not involved as he recovers from injury.

However, loan signing Dejan Kulusevski pulled out of the session after appearing to injure his calf.

Conte delighted with new Tottenham additions

Conte did, however, find time to talk to SpursTV about the club’s summer additions.

He said, when asked about Perisic: “We’re talking about a really good player, strong physically, good quality with both feet. He can give us a lot.

“[Bissouma] impressed us in these two games [against Brighton], he played very well. But the whole season he played really well. He’s another important player we’re adding to midfield.

“We know very well [Richarlison’s] talent. We’re talking about a striker that can play in every three positions in front. I like him. He’s strong mentally.

“It’s not easy to play against him because during the game he’s always very strong. We need this type of player with great character. Strong physically but at the same time with good quality.”
