On a night of two big problems for Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham were too strong for Azerbaijan opponents Qarabag in the Europa League group phase opener on Thursday. After the game was delayed by over half an hour due to torrential London weather impacting travel, Spurs got the better of their opponents, even with 10 men.

Radu Dragusin's early red card - less than 10 minutes into the game - threatened to derail the night but Brennan Johnson's quick response to that setback put Postecoglou's side in control. Dominic Solanke and Pape Matar Sarr added to the score after the break

It was an entertaining game on a wet pitch, with Tottenham unsurprisingly sticking to an ambitious high line despite their numerical disadvantage. A standout performance from Guglielmo Vicario not only helped to keep an unlikely clean sheet but also left his side with a lead to defend at times.

It wasn't all good news though with Son Heung-Min forced off with 15 minutes to spare. Moments after his shot had been saved and parried into Solanke's path for the third goal, he was treated by the club's medical staff and had to leave the field.

That will be a worry for Postecoglou ahead of a trip to Manchester United on Sunday. Here, football.london has the latest on the rest of the Spurs injury news.

Son Heung-Min

Had to leave the pitch against Qarabag early after picking up an unspecified knock. Was able to walk off the pitch but needed attention from Tottenham physios first.
