Hayes, a 6-foot-8 forward, will join a Lakers team that is dealing with injuries to guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (strained Achilles tendon) and forward Kyle Kuzma (sprained finger), who were each hurt in Wednesday night’s loss in Oklahoma City. The Lakers are 15-29 and start a three-game home stand on Friday night against Indiana.

Hayes has averaged 14.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 30 games for Westchester. He wasn’t selected in the 2017 NBA draft after four standout seasons at Wisconsin.
