Harry Redknapp has been hilariously trolled by former club Southampton.

The 71-year-old football manager is about to enter the Australian jungle after signing up for the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

So far this year, the confirmed stars are EastEnders actress Rita Simons, television presenter Nick Knowles, actress Emily Atack, former X Factor singer Fleur East, The Vamps star James McVey, The Chase “Governess” Anne Hegerty, footballing legend Harry Redknapp, Coronation Street star Alya Nazir and Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer.

Redknapp’s almost 25 years in management saw take charge of clubs Tottenham, West Ham, Portsmouth (twice), Southampton, Bournemouth and QPR.

However, Southampton are clearly not in the forgiving mood and it appears unlikely they’ll be voting for their former manager.

The club took to Twitter to post a hilarious comment ahead of Redknapp’s upcoming TV appearance.

It read: “Careful Harry doesn’t leave you halfway through to join @bbcstrictly 🙄 #saintsfc”.

The animosity all dates back to 2005.

After spending two seasons in charge of bitter rivals Portsmouth, Redknapp joined Southampton in 2004 only for him to quit the Saints after overseeing their relegation to the Championship and re-join Premier League ‘Pompey’ in December 2005.

Saints fans were furious and blamed him for relegation at the end of the 2004-05 season and he rubbed salt in the wounds when he won the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008.

Redknapp probably won’t mind – he will reportedly earn a huge £500,000 for his time on the show.
