NBA: Spurs dismantle Cavs, Westbrook lifts Thunder

The ailing Cleveland Cavaliers lost top spot in the NBA Eastern Conference after suffering a big defeat to the San Antonio Spurs, while Russell Westbrook starred late for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Cleveland fell half a game behind the Boston Celtics for the top seed in the east following Monday's 103-74 rout against the Spurs in San Antonio.

Westbrook hit a jumper with seven seconds remaining as the Thunder rallied to beat the Dallas Mavericks 92-91.

The Toronto Raptors were inspired by DeMar DeRozan in their 131-112 win over the Orlando Magic.

CLEVELAND'S WOES CONTINUE

The reigning champions are in a bad place at the moment.

Cleveland lost back-to-back games and their fourth in six as they set a season low for points.

LeBron James - who finished with 17 points - was also injured late in the third quarter after taking an elbow to his neck and did not return.

Kawhi Leonard posted 25 points for the Spurs, who led by as many as 33 points as they moved within two games of the Golden State Warriors for the league's best record.

WESTBROOK THE HERO… AGAIN!

The Thunder were led by another Westbrook triple-double in Dallas.

Westbrook had 37 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for his 37th triple-double of the season as the Thunder erased a 13-point deficit.

He scored 12 of the final 14 points in the game, including the match-winner.

DEROZAN SCORES 36

The All-Star's big haul helped Toronto to their sixth successive win.

Corey Joseph contributed a double-double of 15 points and 13 assists.

PISTONS LOSE AGAIN

The New York Knicks handed the Detroit Pistons a fourth consecutive defeat after triumphing 109-95.

Elsewhere, the Memphis Grizzlies went down 91-90 to the Sacramento Kings, while the Utah Jazz were 108-100 winners over New Orleans Pelicans.
