St Helens have welcomed back goal-kicking winger Tommy Makinson to their squad for the televised Channel 4 clash against Castleford on Sunday.

Makinson, 30, returns having missed the last four games due to injury. It’s a timely boost for Kristian Woolf, who will be without winger Regan Grace, having played his final game for the club. The Wales international suffered a ruptured Achilles during the defeat to Salford

Dan Norman also returns to the 21-man squad after missing last week due to a minor glute injury. Despite an injury concern to his bicep, Curtis Sironen is fit enough to be included.

Sam Royle has also been named having been recalled from his loan at Hull KR. Young George Delaney drops out.

Agnatius Paasi misses out due to the concussion protocols after showing symptoms following the defeat last Sunday.

Feki earns first call-up of 2022

Gareth O’Brien and Alex Mellor return to Castleford’s squad for Sunday’s visit to the Totally Wicked Stadium. The pair missed the club’s defeat to Wakefield in the previous round of Super League action.

Winger Sosaia Feki has been named in the squad for the first time in 2022. The former Cronulla Sharks player has struggled with injuries since making the move to Super League with the Tigers.

He has been limited to just one appearance so far since making the switch to England in 2020.

Cheyse Blair has also been included, while Jake Mamo misses out due to a head knock. Daniel Smith, George Lawler, and Kieran Hudson also step out of the squad.

St Helens: Welsby, Makinson, Lomax, Walmsley, Roby, Lees, Batchelor, Knowles, Lussick, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Sironen, Wingfield, Bell, Davies, Hurrell, Norman, Royle, Bennison, Baxter, Hill, Pemberton.

Castleford: Olpherts, Faraimo, Richardson, Watts, McShane, Edwards, Milner, Westerman, Griffin, Fonua, Sutcliffe, Eden, Blair, Matagi, Martin, Hall, Feki, O’Brien, Robb, Qareqare, Mellor.
