As the summer season starts to roll around, Canadian Football League action has ramped up. And while everybody was talking about the emergence of Johnny Manziel arriving on the scene, it was Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Juwan Brescacin who had fans talking in their season opener against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

And that is how you get the CFL season started. Brescacin reached all the way back to make a sensational 42-yard grab on the play.

To no surprise, many CFL fans were in awe of the fantastic catch.

The catch came late in the second quarter with the Stamps looking to add to their lead. Unfortunately for Calgary, the team turned the ball over two plays later on a Mitchell interception in the red zone.

The Stampeders will be looking for more plays like the one made by the 25-year old receiver this season. Calgary has made it to the past two Grey Cup Championships, but the team has nothing to show for it as they’ve lost to both the Ottawa Redblacks and Toronto Argonauts in the Championship game.

It may only be the first week of the season, but the Mississauga, Ontario native has already set the bar for the league’s catch of the year.
