A pair of Scotland rugby stars will be hoping to help the side to success over Australia at Murrayfield on Sunday as the Autumn Nations Series rounds to a close.

Star fly-half Finn Russell, originally from Bridge of Allan and former Stirling County star second-rower Grant Gilchrist will pick up their latest caps in the big clash against an unbeaten Wallabies side over their autumn fixtures.

Both players had made appearances in the defeat to world champions South Africa earlier in the internationals series before being rested in last week's comfortable nine-try win over Portugal.

It will be cap number 82 for 32-year-old talisman Russell, while Stirling-born Gilchrist will be making his 74th Scotland appearance.

The Australia fixture will be part of a double-header of international action for Scotland - with an 'A' side also taking to the Hive Stadium in the capital for a game with Chile.

That match will see more players with Stirling links, including Glasgow Warriors prop Jamie Bhatti fresh off his first international score against the Portuguese.

Other players who have made recent appearances at Bridgehaugh in the squad for the Chile match including former Stirling Wolves players Ben Afshar and Jare Oguntibeju.

A win on Saturday would make it three from four in the autumn, with a victory over Fiji preceding the South Africa defeat.
