Strictly Come Dancing is back with another star-studded season, and the competition is already heating up.

This year, the BBC celebrity dance contest sees 15 famous faces taking to the dancefloor in a bid to win the iconic Glitterball Trophy.

Strictly fans have already seen some impressive moves from the season 21 cast, with several stars gaining high praise from the four judges: Anton du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.

Week one saw the celebrities and their professional partners perform a competitive dance together for the first time.

While four couples were tied near the top of the leaderboard with a score of 29, the true frontrunners from week one were Nigel Harman and Katya Jones, who were awarded an impressive 32 points.

Week two saw the celebrities performing a different style of dance, with Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin topping the week's leaderboard. The public vote opened for the first time at the end of the show, with their votes combined with the judges' scores from the first two weeks.

Week three saw the competitors take part in Movie Week, the first themed round of the series and a long-standing Strictly tradition. Head judge Shirley also awarded the first 10 of the series.

Week four saw Layton and Nikita top the leaderboard once again, this time earning the earliest 10 for a Cha-cha-cha in Strictly history.

Week five featured another leaderboard-topping routine by Layton and Nikita, with the pair scoring the first 39 for a week five routine in 13 years.

Week six took things in a spooktacular direction for Halloween, with Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola topping the leaderboard for the first time, while Layton wowed with an impressive backflip in heels.

Week seven saw an emotional Couples Choice routine from Annabel and Johannes, with Ellie and Vito heading up the leaderboard for the second week in a row with their showstopping American Smooth.

Week eight saw Layton and Nikita at the top of the leaderboard again after stunning the judges and audiences with an Argentine Tango to Loreen's 'Tattoo', earning a near-perfect score.

Week nine marked the show's return to Blackpool's famous Tower Ballroom, where both Layton and Nikita and Ellie and Vito headed up the leaderboard after impressing the judges - but Craig's 10 paddle didn't make it into his suitcase.

All leaderboard scores are out of 40, except where otherwise specified.

Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk were in the dance-off with Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington. All four judges chose to save Angela and Kai, forcing Adam and Luba to hang up their dancing shoes.

The soap star said of his time on Strictly: "The confidence and self-belief I now have in myself, it's out of this world, I have to thank all these guys [castmates] up here. What a bunch to be on this journey with. I'm just very, very lucky!"

Meanwhile, Luba said of her partner: "You're the winner of my heart forever, and it's better than a trophy."

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 results – week 6 dance-off

During the Halloween spooktacular, Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk.

All four judges voted to save Adam and Luba, meaning Zara became the fifth celebrity to leave the dancing competition.

The former Love Island star said she had "the time of [her] life" on the show and would be cheering everyone on for the remainder of the series.

Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer were in the dance-off along with Zara McDermott and Graziano di Prima.

Craig, Motsi, Shirley and Anton all voted to save Zara and Graziano, meaning that Eddie and Karen left the competition.

On Monday, October 23, it was announced that Amanda Abbington had decided to withdraw from Strictly. She later confirmed in her own statement that "for personal reasons I am unable to continue".
