Succession spoilers follow.

Succession star Peter Friedman has admitted to finding co-star Brian Cox "frightening".

The Frank Vernon actor, recently seen in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, said Cox can be quite scary when playing Logan Roy.

The HBO series has recently reached its conclusion with the fourth and final season, which saw the Roy family being hit by many traumatic events, including Logan's death.

Speaking about working with Cox, Friedman explained his colleague can be terrifying when gearing up to play Logan, despite being "the nicest guy in the world" off-set.

"He's frightening when he gets up into high dudgeon," Friedman told The Guardian. "I don't mean just acting frightening, I mean actually frightening. He can get there! But he's also the nicest guy in the world."

Friedman also weighed in on his character being on the receiving end of many nasty comments, often coming from Kieran Culkin's Roman Roy.

"As Frank, I'm offended sometimes, but as Peter, it's fun," he said.

"Certain bits aren't scripted. After some two-line spat, Kieran will throw a champagne cork at me. I'm like: 'Ow, f**k, that's not in any script.' But it's perfect," he continued, adding: "Kieran has been so hot this season."

Now that Succession has bowed out with a final twist, some fans have been holding out hope for a spin-off (and perhaps more Peter banter), though it seems that isn't likely to happen.

"I'll never say never but my instinct, and based on a number of conversations about the evolution of Succession and these characters, at this stage, there is no intention of spinning any one character off," HBO head of drama Francesca Orsi told Deadline ahead of the last episode.

Succession season 4 airs on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
