It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

Where else to begin than with the Rugby Championship and Argentina’s impressive first win over the All Blacks on New Zealand soil. Here’s the local commentary.

The victory in Christchurch caps a remarkable turnaround for this Los Pumas side and if they could go all the way and lift the title it would an incredible achievement.

Maybe the win had something to do with a pre-game feast earlier in the week that likely tested the local area’s meat stocks. There’s plenty of protein on this barbeque.

That result came shortly after South Africa went down to Australia in Adelaide. As RugbyPass put it, the All Blacks’ fans happy mood didn’t last long on Saturday.

How the Wallabies managed to win owes a lot to the performance of Marika Koroibete, who was outstanding both in attack and defence, as viewers witnessed here.

There was also drama and controversy involving scrum-half Nic White after he was clipped in the face by opposite number Faf de Klerk. Cue the many social memes.

We also enjoyed this tweet from BallCarrier…

And this…

Staying with the Rugby Championship theme briefly and there was a moment of light-hearted fun in the week at the All Blacks as wing Caleb Clarke won a decent bet.

This also tickled us and must admit we thought the same on first glance…

Elsewhere across Planet Rugby this week, it was International Dog Day and Rugby World Cup’s Twitter page went into the archives to bring us some funny moments.

There was also one of rugby’s hard men, Tom Curry, showing his gentle side with his dog while wearing face T-shirts. The back-rower might get some stick for this.

Speaking of getting stick for wearing a shirt, one suspects that Munster back-row Peter O’Mahony might cop a lot for this. Let him off as it was his stag do? Ok…

Finally, we end with South African player Lusanda Dumke being able to swap winning a car for vital cash that is going to benefit her family significantly. Amazing!
