Sunday Social: Northern Hemisphere bounces back, rugby’s inclusivity and a Sonny Bill Williams knock-down

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

Firstly, the Northern Hemisphere sides claimed a full house of wins against their Southern counterparts, flipping the narrative and setting up series deciders across the board. Stunning effort and a big step forward after the previous week!

Meanwhile, a throwback back to the mind-blowing moment where the USA wing Takudzwa Ngwenya left the lightning fast Springbok legend Bryan Habana in his dust. It was a shock to the rugby world as not many were known to outrun Habana in his prime. Historic try from the Zimbabwean-born wing.

Step-aside Frans Steyn! One of the biggest clearances you will ever see. This lad must have gained at least 80 metres of territory with this rocket of a punt. Truly outrageous distance. Imagine his goal-kicking range!

Whoever made this is a genius! Hilarious post of how Boris Johnson will be leaving number 10 after all the drama, using Wales captain Dan Biggar walking away frustrated. Brutal yet brilliant.

Word on the street is Bulls coach Jake White will be applying for Johnson’s spot on Downing Street. Unlikely, he is probably on the prowl for a 45th signing ahead of next season!

Fighter down!!! The legendary Sonny Bill Williams showcases his boxing skills as he shadow fights with a child who eventually succumbs to the free-flowing technique of the former All Blacks. What a fight!

A heartwarming moment for these two Blackrock Women’s Rugby players who got married. Incredible to see rugby’s inclusivity on show again. Congratulations to Shell and Jackie!

Finally, a young girl writes the purest poem about girls loving rugby as much as boys do! Once again, rugby is showing off its growing inclusivity. Someone frame this poem. Wow. Excellent work, Livi.
