Super League's quota situation as three clubs still have space for further recruitment

Super League clubs continue to finalise their recruitment drives for the 2025 season, with the final tweaks and additions to squads being made. There are still more spots to fill, with further business expected in the off-season as three clubs hold space to add overseas players. Here's a rundown of each club's quota situation to date, with seven spots permitted per club.

Castleford Tigers: 6/7
The Fords released three quota players in Jacob Miller, Elie El-Zakhem, and Nixon Putt at the end of last season before announcing the signings of Parramatta Eels half Dajaern Asi and Papua New Guinean international Judah Rimbu. They also confirmed the signing of Parramatta winger Zac Cini this summer and have one spot still available, with another PNG star, Jeremiah Simbiken, on their radar.

Catalans Dragons: 6/7
The French club have recruited strongly for 2025, with three NRL signings already confirmed: Nick Cotric (Canberra Raiders), Tevita Pangai Junior (Dolphins), and perhaps most significantly of all, Luke Keary (Sydney Roosters). The future of Reimis Smith is still to be confirmed, with the centre arriving on a deal until the end of 2024.

Huddersfield Giants: 6/7
The Giants confirmed the signing of hooker Zac Woolford from Canberra Raiders and still have one quota spot to use as new head coach Luke Robinson puts his stamp on the squad. They confirmed the departures of Esan Marsters, Kevin Naiqama, and Seb Ikahihifo at the end of the season, but have recently signed Fiji star Taane Milne, as first reported by Rugby League Live, and Jacob Gagai.

Hull FC: 7/7
Hull FC have confirmed four quota signings in John Asiata (Leigh Leopards), Jordan Rapana (Canberra Raiders), Aidan Sezer (Wests Tigers), and Cade Cust (Salford Red Devils). Jed Cartwright also joined in the summer from Newcastle Knights, with Carlos Tuimavave leaving the club.

Hull KR: 7/7
The Robins are up to their full quota allowance after the signing of Leeds Rhinos back-row forward Rhyse Martin. They have also acquired Jared Waerea-Hargreaves from NRL outfit Sydney Roosters. Tom Opacic and Matt Parcell will make way.

Leeds Rhinos: 7/7
The Rhinos are now back up to the full complement of quota players after the signings of Keenan Palasia and Cooper Jenkins. The two props join from Australia and take the spots of Rhyse Martin and David Fusitu’a.

Leigh Leopards: 7/7
The Leythers will be much changed next season, with the likes of John Asiata, Tom Amone and Kai O’Donnell leaving for pastures new at the end of 2024. Asiata will join Hull FC, while Amone and O'Donnell will head back to the NRL. Centre Ricky Leutele will also leave the club, while out-of-contract prop forward Ben Nakubuwai is also expected to depart, although not as of yet confirmed. Coming in, the club have announced the signings of Isaac Liu, David Armstrong, Tesi Niu, and Ben Condon.

Salford Red Devils: 8/7
The Red Devils triggered a one-year option for Loghan Lewis, who will remain at the club in 2025. Their one new quota signing is Esan Marsters, who will arrive from Huddersfield Giants on a three-year deal. But King Vuniyayawa returns to the club after a loan spell with Hull FC, so technically, they're over the quota at this point.

St Helens: 7/7
The Saints have announced two new signings, Tristan Sailor (Briscoe Broncos) and Kyle Feldt (North Queensland Cowboys). They have also confirmed the re-signing of Konrad Hurrell to a new deal.

Warrington Wolves: 7/7
The Wire confirmed the signing of Papua New Guinea international forward Dan Russell this week. He will replace Josh Drinkwater, who has been released.

Wigan Warriors: 7/7
Willie Isa has signed a new one-year contract at the club, putting Wigan back up to the full complement of quota players.
