Byrne, who posted a 1:25.908, stole it away from the Tommy Hill by just 0.062 of a second in Q3.

Michael Laverty aboard the Samsung Honda took third ahead of Josh Brookes, who jumped up from eighth to fourth, pushing Noriyuki Haga on to the second row. Chris Walker ended up sixth with James Westmoreland getting the better of his WFR team-mates Graeme Gowland and Alex Lowes to take seventh. Michael Rutter rounded out the top ten.

Gowland had led the way in Q2 and Q1, but Byrne, the quickest man in the previous practice, struck when he needed to, getting his lap right in the final session.
