Istanbul Park Circuit

The Istanbul Park weekend fills the vacant spot on the provisional calendar from September 13-15 as the 10th of 15 meetings – a record number for the series.

It effectively replaces the Czech round in Brno and joins Laguna Seca, Jerez and Buddh as new tracks for 2013. The Superstock 1000 and 600 classes will not travel to the meeting.

Istanbul Park opened in 2005 but was dropped from the MotoGP calendar after three years then from the F1 season last year.

The nation boasts World Supersport star Kenan Sofuoglu, who is bidding for a fourth title in the series in 2013.

Meanwhile races at Portimao and Imola have been confirmed for June 9 and June 30 respectively after previously being ‘subject to contract’.
