The former GSE Racing boss, who has seven championships and more than 100 wins under his belt, was a guest of the team at Oulton Park and says that he and team owner Mark Roebuck have very similar goals.

"Now that I have downsized my house and don't have any grass to cut, I need something to do at weekends, so it's either go to the pub more or go racing again," joked Wright when he spoke to this morning.

"Mark and I have talked about the possibility of working together in 2014 and it looks likely it will happen. I can't go into any detail because a lot of things have yet to be worked out but the plans are good.

"Obviously, I want to go back to winning, like anyone else. I think that the team would like to some advice and guidance in the future and I believe I am able to give them that. Where it goes after that is anyone's guess but I am pleased the team thought of me."
