Donington BSB: Weaving snatches epic Motostar battle

RS Racing's Andy Reid looked certain to take his first victory after his comeback from injury with a three second advantage, before he suffered a technical problem with just three laps remaining.

Mackenzie and Weaving were left to battle it out for the win and as they came out of the Foggy Esses on the last lap, Mackenzie went left and Weaving right as they sandwiched a back marker before Weaving dived under the inside of the young Scotsman at the Melbourne Loop. As they charged up towards Goddards the pair were rubbing shoulders, with Mackenzie the latest on the brakes but he was too late. The Red Bull Rookie competitor ran wide into Goddards, handing Weaving the victory.

SP125 Racing's Tom Carne was the first 125 machine across the line, extending his championship lead even further, but it was also his first outright podium of the year having come across the line in third place. Team WD40 Honda's Joe Francis had a difficult race struggling home in fourth place but he still holds a 32 point championship advantage.

FPW Honda's Taz Taylor took his best finish of the year and his first evernBritish Championship podium after coming home as the second 125 ahead of RCD Motorsport's Callum Bey. Elliot Lodge took seventh place after battling past Peter Sutherland. James Hobson and Arnie Shelton round out the top ten.
