Things were made worse for the rider when qualifying was cancelled on Saturday because of torrential rain, meaning he had to start race one, seventeenth on the grid. Race two was much better and he managed to start on the front row. But the Englishman found the whole weekend quite tough.
“It is good to be on the podium, and it is a tough circuit and we have to ride to the limit at all times at Thruxton. But today was a tough one, but we put up a good show,” said Ellison.
“I can not wait to go to Oulton Park now as it is a good circuit. We were not too happy about how we performed in the practice sessions, but we did manage to pull through it on race day, and I am happy.”
