I Will Go With MS Dhoni (1st), Rahul Dravid (2nd) And Virat Kohli (3rd): Suresh Raina

During a recent conversation with well-known DJ Raunac on YouTube, Suresh Raina was asked to rank the captaincy and leadership skills of the likes of MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli. Given his proximity and close friendship with MS Dhoni, Raina picked the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper as no.1.

He then ranked Rahul Dravid, under whom he had made his first India appearance, at no.2 and finally put Virat Kohli at no.3, under whom Raina played for a little while in 2018-2020.

“I have played a lot with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) the batsman, the player and the leader. Rahul (Dravid) bhai was my captain when I started out playing for India, when the core of the team was being built. So will go with Mahi bhai (1st), Rahul bhai (2nd) and Virat Kohli (3rd). I have had many good partnerships with Virat Kohli and he has created very impressive records. So yeah, that would be my order – Dhoni, Rahul and Cheeku (Virat),” said Raina while speaking to RJ Raunak on the latter’s YouTube channel.

Suresh Raina will reunite MS Dhoni when the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) resumes in the UAE when the duo will play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Chennai Super Kings will clash with Mumbai Indians in the opening match in Dubai when the Indian Premier League resumes from September 19 onwards.

Raina has a total of 5491 runs in 200 IPL games so far with a healthy strike rate of 136.89, with one century to his name.
