Chris Sutton has highlighted the one worry he has about Arsenal which could cost them in the title race against Manchester City.

The Gunners have won their last five Premier League matches and hold a five-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side at the top.

Their 3-0 triumph against Fulham this weekend was arguably one of their best performances of the season as they swept Marco Silva’s side away in the first half.

Despite their electric form in the league, Sutton thinks that their Europa League campaign could hinder their progress in the league.

Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw with Sporting in the first leg of their European tie and several of their first team stars played a full 90 minutes.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka each played a full 90 minutes against Sporting and Sutton thinks an injury to either player could prove costly.

“I have got a worry for Arsenal,” the pundit told BBC Radio 5 Live. “It’s the fact that I just wonder on the European front, in Lisbon, he played Saka and started Martinelli.

“We mentioned their goals and their importance of them as Arsenal players. If you get an injury to one of those two, that would put them on the back a little bit.”

In the Premier League alone, Saka and Martinelli have each played over 2,000 minutes of football and have featured in every league game so far.

Between them in the league, they have scored 22 goals and have provided 11 assists which is some going.

What does ease the burden on the two wingers is the signing of Leandro Trossard.

The former Brighton man has had an instant impact at the Emirates and has already chipped in with several goal contributions.

Arsenal are also boosted by the return of Gabriel Jesus who came off the bench in the second half against Fulham.

“Huge. His presence, what he transmits to the team, the experience he already has in these types of games,” Arteta told Sky Sports.

“He’s a huge player for us. He has changed our dynamic, he has changed our belief, he has put the team in a different status, so it is great to have him back.”

The Gunners are in a strong position heading into the final months of the Premier League season, but an injury could still throw them off their stride.
