Sutton United are a Football League club for the first time in their history and will begin their maiden campaign in League Two away to Forest Green Rovers.

The club have requested an away game for their first fixture of the season in order to give as much time as possible for the expensive task of ripping up their 3G pitch and replacing it with a brand new grass surface.

There are no plans for an early season ground share, meaning, should all go to schedule, the first ever Football League game at Gander Green Lane will see Sutton host Salford City on August 14.

Boxing Day brings a visit to Bristol Rovers while New Year’s Day can be spent at home with Exeter City making the trip to Sutton.

The final home game of the season comes against Bradford City on April 30 while the campaign comes to a close away at Harrogate Town.
