Swansea’s Transfer Window!

Despite some bizarre rumours - including the one that Swansea had approached Brazil star Robinho (come on, something like this was bound to happen) - it was a pretty quiet Transfer Deadline Day for the club.

But then, when has it ever been loud?

In all, I don’t think anyone can complain. Two decent players have been brought in and some dead weight has - at least temporarily - been shifted.

Here is the brief list of the Swans ins and outs of this transfer window:

IN:

Alberto Paloschi

The first newcomer of 2016, and a good boost to the strike force. The 26-year-old striker arrived from Chievo for £8 million, having already scored eight goals in 21 Serie A games for his former side this season.

In a turbulent time where there has been queries over who has brought who to the club, there’s no denying that Paloschi is a Guidolin signing, with the two very close after working together at Parma.

A speedy striker and a strong finisher, this is exactly the signing Swansea needed (the exact opposite of Bafetimbi Gomis in fact…)

Leroy Fer

No - not Leroy Lita, as many first read that.

As last minute as Swansea get, the club signed Leroy Fer on loan from QPR on Monday evening. The arrival of the 26-year-old midfielder has raised a few eyebrows, especially as he has been relegated two seasons running - first with Norwich and then with QPR last year.

But looking on the bright side, he has been capped 11 times by the Netherlands and has been playing regularly this season - albeit in the Championship - and is in good form

OUT:

Eder

The underwhelming Portuguese striker has joined Lille on loan for the rest of the season. He’s only started two league games for the Swans this season and, with the arrival of Paloschi, it’s unlikely he would have started many more!

Jonjo Shelvey

The earliest action for Swansea in the transfer window saw the temperamental-but-talented Jonjo Shelvey make a £12 million move to Newcastle. Everything that could be said about this move has now been said. Good business.

Daniel Alfei

The 22-year-old reserve player joined League Two Mansfield Town on loan until the end of the season.

Ryan Hedges

Another from the reserves, striker Hedges has joined League Two Stevenage on a very short loan.
