SAINTS youngster Tyler Dibling has confirmed his exit from the club and completed a move to Chelsea on scholarship terms.

The 16-year-old prodigy became a well-known talent after his hattrick versus Newcastle United in Premier League 2 went viral, with all three goals virtually identical.

He had made his debut at under-23 level just weeks earlier, scoring in the treble in his second match. Dibling had excelled under Carl Martin and Mikey Harris in the younger age group.

Dibling spent 10 years with Saints and was taken to Brentford by first-team manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, where he experienced being on the bench for a Premier League match.

However, being only 16, he was unable to have professional terms ratified by the FA and therefore easier to poach. He follows Eddie Beach, who also joined Chelsea from Saints this summer.

On Instagram, announcing his move, Dibling said: “Just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff and players at Southampton for these last 10 years at the club.

“I’m forever grateful for the opportunities that have been handed to me and wish the club all the best. I’m excited to join Chelsea and can’t wait to get started!”

Dibling could feature for the Blues in UEFA Youth League action this season, while Saints did not qualify for the tournament after defeat in the Under-18 Premier League final to Manchester City.
