Can we talk about Maya Jama's Love Island launch outfit ahead of tonight's first show?
Yep, after what feels like forever, Love Island is finally back *tonight*. Synchronise your watches, set your reminders, and do whatever you need to do this afternoon because come 9 pm there's only one place you should be. Tuning into ITV2 ready to watch an evening of copious grafting attempts, unexpected bombshells, and plenty of summer fashion inspo.
Talking of fashion inspo, as excited as we are to meet the new bunch of Islanders we're also eagerly awaiting the arrival of Maya Jama, who is returning as host for the tenth series. Last season she impressed with a slew of stunning lewks including a black cut-out dress, graphic naked dress, and a red crochet crop top and mini skirt co-ord. And it seems this season is no different as we've had a sneak peek of her launch 'fit and trust us when we say woah.
With her hair worn down in touseled mermaidcore waves, Maya can be seen strutting into the villa wearing a white halterneck crochet dress complete with flower motifs and cut-outs at the hips. The backless design is the Accalia Crochet Gown from LA brand, Cult Gaia (a favourite of Emily Ratajkowski and Shay Mitchell).
Not only is crochet a huge trend this season thanks to the '70s fashion revival, but the ankle-length design also taps into the naked look that celebs have been loving lately with the open weave of the skirt. It's also similar to the white lace see-through dress Maya wore to the Vogue x Chopard party in Cannes, France last month.
If you love Maya's latest look as much as we do, good news as the crochet number is still in stock in almost every size. While Maya styled hers with gold strappy heels, the summery dress would work just as well dressed down with flat sandals and a woven tote. It does come with a premium price tag though, so we've also rounded up some similar styles to shop now on the high street for every budget.
