A Champions League club are progressing in talks to sign Tanguy Ndombele who could be just one of four Tottenham exits in the coming weeks, per reports.

Spurs conducted the bulk of their business bright and early this summer. That was at the behest of Antonio Conte who pushed to have a full pre-season to work with the majority of his new faces.

Udinese’s Destiny Udogie is poised to become Tottenham’s seventh summer addition, though is expected to be loaned straight back to Italy.

Elsewhere, Cristian Romero will finally become a Tottenham player outright before the month is out. There has been mass confusion as to the structure of the Argentine’s deal, though it has all been clarified here.

The Telegraph hinted a creative midfielder could be the icing on the cake for Spurs’ window. However, while work on incomings is coming to a close, there remains plenty to do on the outgoings.

Indeed, widespread reports have put Spurs quartet Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso and Ndombele in the shop window.

Sky Sports confirm the foursome have all been training away from the first-team squad of late and Tottenham are open to offers for all four.

Lo Celso exit agreed

Lo Celso is wanted by Villarreal and Fabrizio Romano recently tweeted a loan without an option to buy has been agreed.

Reguilon looks destined to return to Spain if he does leave, while there has been little demand to sign Winks since Everton cooled their interest.

However, the outlook on an Ndombele sale looks far rosier, per Sky Sports.

They state Serie A heavyweight Napoli are in talks with Spurs. The negotiations are said to be ‘progressing’, though it is far from a done deal as yet.

The Daily Mail suggest a season-long loan deal is in the works, though there are other suitors if a move to Naples falls through.

Villarreal are in the mix,, along with Turkish powerhouse, Galatasaray.

Ndombele has no place at Conte’s Tottenham

The Frenchman arrived for a club-record £55.65m in 2019, though never proved his worth in north London.

None of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo or Conte could bring out his best on a consistent basis. The latter gave him short shrift last term, loaning him out to Lyon just three months after taking charge.

Ndombele is a maverick player and can produce moments of magic on his day. However, that is not the type of midfielder Conte will place his faith in during his managerial career.

Indeed, one look at the types of midfielder he has already signed at Spurs show Ndombele’s future clearly lays elsewhere.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are tough tackling and no-nonsense disruptors in the middle of the park.

It is simply a case of wrong time, wrong place for Ndombele and Tottenham right now.
