Midway through the second period of Sunday’s Kraft Hockeyville game in Lumby, B.C., Pearson was ejected following an illegal check to the head. With the puck coming toward Davidson, the Kings forward gave up attempting to possess it and went for the hit. That’s when he caught the Oilers defenseman up high.

Davidson has not skated with the Oilers since Sunday and is currently listed as “day-to-day.” The suspension will cost Pearson $15,555.56, which goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

The Kings have two preseason games remaining. Pearson will be eligible to return for LA’s game on Oct. 18 against the Minnesota Wild.
