Tanze proud of Wikki Tourist despite defeat to Enugu Rangers

The management of the Giant Elephants has mandated their players who are yet to arrive Bauchi to do so on or before Sunday

Wikki Tourist striker Shammah Tanze believes his team deserved at least a point from their rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match against Enugu Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.

The Giant Elephants succumbed to the superiority of the Flying Antelopes as they lost 3-2 in Enugu.

Tanze who scored a goal and accounted for an assist in the encounter was happy with his teammates' performance but was left disappointed with the result.

"We should be very proud of the performance. The guys performed well, especially in the second half where we created chances and tried to score goals," Tanze told Goal.

"It was so disappointing having to end up on the losing side after the hard fighting show we displayed. I believe we will get better next time.

"We are pleased with the performance but disappointed with the result. This was a bitter defeat because we didn’t deserve to lose."
